Equipment

Materials

  • cooked brown rice cooled

Instructions

  • Once your rice has cooled down, use a 1 cup measuring cup to portion your rice in a quart freezer bag.
A quart bag will hold 4 cups. Portion the rice based on what works for you and your household!
*I'd recommend starting with freezing 1 cup portions. It makes it easier to microwave it straight from the freezer whenever you need a small amount.
  • Once you have the rice in the bag, flatten the bag and lay it on a baking sheet
  • Put the baking sheet in the freezer on a flat surface and leave it there for ~2 hours until frozen. Once it's frozen remove the baking sheet.

Notes

**Avoid freezing more rice in one bag then you will warm up in the microwave. It's definitely frigging hard to break apart frozen rice because you need less than what you actually froze. Start out freezing small amounts, like 1 cup at a time. It's easier!
