Stewed apples are a nutritious addition to breakfast pancakes, waffles or French toast. The best part is that "no sugar" is required and you can't even tell it's missing!
Slice the apple into quarters and then diced it to the size of your liking. I like to leave the skin on the apple so that I can get the fiber boost!
Add the apples, the apple juice and a few dashes of cinnamon and ginger to a small stockpot. Bring it to a simmering boil.
After it reaches a simmering boil, turn it down to low and cook for no more than 10 minutes. Add more cinnamon and ginger as desired. Stir well after adding the spices.
Notes
You may consider adding honey, sugar or maple syrup if the tartness is too much
