    Ingredients

    • Pecan halves
      • You can also try with pecan pieces
    • Honey
      • This recipe calls for a small amount of honey. Honey is a sweetener that does provide sugar, however this isn't really a bad thing.  A healthy diet can have sugar, but it is very important to know your limits and not over do it to prevent health concerns.
      • You’ll want to keep total added sugars under 25 grams per day for women and under 36 grams per day for men.
    • Butter extract
      • Made from extractives of butter and is gluten-free. It adds the rich taste of butter, just without all the calories and saturated fat ;-).

    See recipe card for quantities.

    Variations

You can get creative in the kitchen with this recipe. Try any of the following combinations!

    • Cinnamon - add ¼ teaspoon - ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and mix well
    • Pumpkin Spice - add ¼ teaspoon - ½ teaspoon of cinnamon and mix well
    • Vanilla - in addition to the butter extract, add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

    Storage

Store honey roasted pecans in an airtight container in the pantry or on the counter. For best quality eat within 5 days.

    Top tip

Roast pecans towards the bottom of the oven to help prevent burning. Avoid roasting on the top shelf.

    FAQ

    Are honey roasted pecans healthy?

Yes, honey roasted pecans are healthy. Pecans have fiber, calcium, potassium and healthy fats. Some people might assume because it has sugar (honey) it is no longer healthy. That’s not the case, however I do recommend being mindful of the amount of honey that you add. Much like this recipe it’s a minimal amount of sugar.

Do you need to soak pecans before roasting them?

Nope! The best part about this recipe for roasted pecans with honey is that there is minimal prep and it cooks up beautifully in 10 minutes.

Are honey roasted pecans gluten free?

Yes, they are because honey is naturally gluten free. If you are looking at a recipe it is important to look at the ingredients to be for sure that nothing else has been added with gluten (if you are allergic to gluten or gluten sensitive).
