Caramelized brown sugar brussel sprouts are the perfect example of healthy delicious!
Most people are either "team brussel sprouts" or completely hate them. My guess is if you're here then you are "team brussel sprouts" OR willing to give them a try.
If you're trying them for the first time "Congrats!!" To be honest, they do look a little funky if you aren't used to them, but they taste similar to cabbage. And cooked the right way, they're very good!

Pro tip: Don't throw away the undamaged leaves!! They make great "brussel sprout chips". Go ahead and bake them in the oven too.
Depending on how crunchy you like the brussel sprouts you can cook them less than 30 minutes. Just watch them and test with a fork for your desired level of crunch.

Brown Sugar Brussel Sprouts
Ingredients
- 1 lb brussel sprouts
- 1 tablespoon light brown brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
- ¼ teaspoon seasoned salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°. Slice brussel sprouts in half and remove damaged outer leaves. Rinse under running cool water.
- In a large mixing bowl, add brown sugar, olive oil and salt. Mix together.
- Toss brussel sprouts with the mixture in the bowl until coated. Place evenly on baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
- Enjoy!
Notes
- Don't throw away undamaged leaves. They bake up nicely as "brussel sprout chips", as I like to call them. Go ahead and mix loose leafs in with the mixture and bake.
- The serving size is set at ½ cup, but you can definitely eat more than that!
