How to Microwave Eggs in a Mug

    Ingredients

    • 2 eggs
    • Milk (optional-see below)

    Equipment

    • Non-stick spray or oil
    • Mug or bowl (make sure it is microwave safe)
    • Fork

Spray your mug or bowl with a non-stick spray. Or you can use a little oil, and rub it around the mug or bowl with your fingers to coat it.

Crack two eggs, stir, and microwave! *Be careful. The mug or bowl will be very hot so use a potholder to take it out of the microwave.

    Microwave Eggs No Milk

Yes, you can microwave eggs without using milk. You may substitute water, but you can microwave eggs in a mug without water as well. I typically just mix two eggs together and pop em in the microwave.

There's no problem swapping water for milk if this is your preference.

    Microwave Eggs in Bowl

A glass Pyrex bowl works really well for microwaving eggs. Just make sure whatever bowl you choose is microwave safe. I probably wouldn't use a plastic bowl.

Microwave Eggs How Long: How Do I Know It's Done?

Since I don’t like runny eggs, I microwaved them for about a minute and 30 seconds to make sure they are cooked. Depending on how you like your eggs and how fast your microwave cooks, you may not need to cook them for this long. You can always start at 1 minute and then increase in 15-second increments until it is done to your liking.

*Eggs will continue to cook once you take them out of the microwave and let them sit for about a minute.

    Topping Ideas

Man, you can add whatever you might normally add to an omelet! Below are some ideas.

    • Onion
    • Peppers
    • Tomato
    • Spinach
    • Mushroom
    • Zucchini
    • Cooked bacon, ham or sausage
